Courtney Chance is currently working at AECOM as a Roadway Design Engineer. She is a May 2019 graduate of Southern Methodist University where she obtained her civil engineering degree and minor in environmental engineering. While at SMU, she was heavily involved the SMU’s TSPE chapter where she served as president, vice president, and secretary. As a new grad, she is passionate about networking with other young professionals through YPT.

YPT Role and Responsibility: As YPT Director of Administration, I record exec board meetings minutes and help run the YPT Houston chapter election.
Why you joined YPT?: I joined YPT because it provided a space for me to network with other young transportation professionals as well as provide educational events targeted to me at this stage in my career.
Bio: Courtney Chance is currently working at AECOM as a Roadway Design Engineer. She is a May 2019 graduate of Southern Methodist University where she obtained her bachelor’s in civil engineering and minor in environmental engineering. Since her start as an engineer, she has worked on various PS&E projects under traffic, roadway, and illumination with the TxDOT as the main client. After joining the organization in 2019, Courtney is now in her second year in the role of Director of Administration for YPT Houston.
Fun Facts:
- Some fun things I like to do in my spare time are cycling, trying new recipes, and going on Netflix show binges.
- One of the coolest things I’ve done is gone piranha fishing on a lake in Brazil when I was in middle school.
