By Bike: The best route to bike downtown may lead you along the MKT, Columbia Tap, or Buffalo Bayou trails. For the final stretch, Flying Saucer is located a short distance from the Austin and Lamar Street Bikeways; it is also close to the Bagby Street Bikeway, which is now partially open north of Capitol Street.
By Car: See the Downtown District’s website for parking information in downtown.

We’re hitting the road! Join us for our first technical tour of the year as we take a guided tour of the METRORapid Silver Line, METRO’s recently-opened Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) line along Post Oak Boulevard. We’ll meet up at Northwest Transit Center and ride the length of the alignment down to Westpark/Lower Uptown Transit Center before heading back north. Along the way, a guide from METRO will give us background and insight on the line’s design and operation.
At the end of the tour, join us as we continue our celebration of in-person events with a Happy Hour at The Rustic by Uptown Park station.
Registration is free for active YPT members! Non-members can tag along for $5. Not a member? Consider taking advantage of our Membership + Event Registration promotion for just $20.

Inflate your tires and grease your chains – we’re hitting the road and hosting a Bike Ride Social!
Join us on Thursday, May 27th at Market Square Park as we take a lap on some of Houston’s newest bikeways. We’ll meet up around 6pm and head-out right at 6:30. We’ll take a casual pace (we’re not the racing type) and aim to keep the ride a bit over an hour.
The event is BYOB (Bring Your Own Bike), but our friends at Houston BCycle are generously supporting our event and will be on-hand offering free BCycle rentals at our starting point.
After we finish-up the ride, feel free to continue the fun as we head towards a local brewery for some post-bike beer.
Registration is free for members. Non-Members can join for just $5. For $20, consider taking advantage of our Membership + Event Fee Special.
We look forward to you joining us and seeing you in-person!

Now that we have power, water, and heat again… let’s get cooking! Join us online on March 18th @ 6:30pm CT for our next social event: a virtual cooking class! A professional chef from will walk us through crafting the ~perfect Piccata~ . We’ll have a Q&A session afterwards with the chef and get to compare and see whose dishes excel… and which ones will be put on the ‘chopping block’ (for you Chopped fans).
An ingredient list will be provided ahead of the event. Choose whichever protein you prefer: Chicken, Pork, or Tofu; the chef will provide instructions for all three. And — the biggest benefit from cooking from home — you can add/omit ingredients as needed or as desired 🥘
Registration is only $10 for active members and $15 for non-members. Consider joining or renewing your membership with our special-price ‘Event + Membership’ option for just $20.

YPT Houston and YPT Atlanta are excited to partner with Transit-Con to support and promote their first-ever virtual transit conference that’s open to all! Learn about transit happenings from around the county during the Industry Talks and connect with other transit advocates in the Open Mic Rooms or in one of the Regional Discussions. Houston’s own Christof Spieler, author of Trains, Buses, People: an Opinionated Atlas of U.S. Transit, keynotes this inaugural event.
