APA Houston Bike Month Event

Houston Chapter of APA (American Planning Association) is having their bike month event this week. They will talk about The Woodlands and Houston bike plans and go on a bicycle tour of East Downtown, followed by a happy hour at 8th Wonder Brewery!  It will be a fun and informative (AND FREE!) event! You can bring your own bike or rent one from B-cycle.

Event:                     Begins at 2:00pm
Location:               611 Walker Street, City of Houston Planning and Development Department, 6th Floor, Raia Conference Room, Houston, TX 77002 (Bring your ID, as you must pass through security)

Speakers:              Geoff Carleton – TEI – Talking about the Houston Bike Plan

Chelsea Young – Jones and Carter – Talking about the Woodlands Bike Plan

Speakers will talk about the plans they worked on, give some details about the process of developing them, and key attributes of developing a successful bike plan.

Bike Tour Begins at 3:30pm Lead by Geoff Carleton and will start at city hall and highlight existing and proposed bicycle facilities downtown and East Downtown. Bring your own bike or rent a Houston B-Cycle.

Happy hour Begins at 5:00pm Location: 8th Wonder Brewery. Drinks, pint glasses, and light food will be provided.
