YPT Houston Volunteers March 25th – 24th annual River, Lakes, Bays ‘n Bayous Trash Bash

Please mark your calendar on Saturday, March 25th at 8:00AM for the 24th annual River, Lakes, Bays ‘n Bayous Trash Bash from 8am to 12pm. We will be joining other volunteers from the local chapters of other professional societies across Houston to volunteer for this cleanup event. There will be many groups of adults and children volunteering on this day at 14 sites across the Galveston Bay Watershed. We have selected the Buffalo Bayou (Upper)-Terry Hershey Park cleanup site.

We will assemble at 15200 Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77079. Valetta Saldanha and Keval Satra will be the volunteer co-ordinators and will register the volunteers before the day of the event. On the day of the event, volunteers will meet at the assembly location, submit the waiver forms and then proceed to the cleanup sites.

Kindly fill out the registration waiver form found HERE and bring it with you on the day of the event.  Also, please do not forget to register with YPT Houston to let us know that you will be coming.  Registration is free HERE.

Parking – A parking lot is located between Highway 6 and Eldridge, at 15200 Memorial Drive where volunteers will be getting on vans for transportation to sites throughout the park. However, the parking lot will be filled very early in the morning. An additional parking lot is located on the north side of the park off of the Interstate 10 Frontage Road just east of BP Way and before you reach Langham Creek. Most people will need to park on Memorial Mews St. and Memorial View Drive and walk to the registration location at the pavilion.

Area to be Cleaned – The areas to be cleaned are the wooded areas along Buffalo Bayou in Terry Hershey Park from Highway 6 to Beltway 8. We will also clean parts of Langham Creek. We will also be selecting new areas in the reservoirs for special work crews.
